Why I use WordTracker as my Number One Search Engine Positioning Tool?
Search engine positioning can be a daunting task, especially when search results change on a daily basis. Knowing what terms people search for to find your product or service can reap huge rewards in your search engine positioning strategy. Search engine optimization begins with finding the most profitable keywords and phrases. Using the right tool to identify the best keywords has a huge impact on search engine placement. Let me share with you upfront that I have found both Wordtracker and Keyword elite very powerful and helpful to build online sites and blogs. Today I am going to share with you about the wordtracker only.
WordTracker is an online keyword generator that compares your keyword queries to a database of over 350 million searches drawn from Metacrawler and Dogpile. In other words, your search for the best keywords is being drawn from a vast selection of terms that are being used by millions of people, day by day.
WordTracker uses a supply and demand equation that shows you the words and phrases that people are using right now. Wordtracker uses ’KEI Analysis’. The real advantage is that you can run the analysis against specific search engines, directories and pay-per-bid engines.
What is KEI Analysis?
The KEI compares the 24 hour result with the number of competing web pages to pinpoint exactly which keywords are most effective for your campaign. In summary, the higher the KEI, the more popular your keywords are, and the less competition they have. Which means you have a better chance of getting to the top.
How WordTracker Works?
WordTracker compiles a database of terms that people search for to find your Website. All you need is one search term to start with and WordTracker does the rest by displaying a variety of keywords and terms you would probably never even think of, showing you how often people search for them and how many competing sites use those keywords.
One of the best things about WordTracker is its ability to "brainstorm" for you. Many consultants get paid big bucks to evaluate a business and come up with a big list of highly targeted keywords and phrases. You’d be surprised at how many excellent keywords and phrases you (or your consultant) will overlook after you start getting second and third opinions from different people. WordTracker solves this problem by taking a single keyword or phrase from you, doing a search for Web sites matching that keyword, and then extracting keywords from their meta tags.
WordTracker then assembles a big list of dozens of keywords, many from your competitors or related sites, that you may never have thought of. You can then go down the list and check only the words you deem are appropriate to your site. Once you do that, WordTracker will then optionally go out and do a "competitive analysis" and rank the keywords based on how often they are searched AND how competitive they are. It estimates the competitiveness of the term by how many times it appears on the Web for a search on a major search engine.
Learn How to Do Keyword Research
Most keyword research companies hand you the tools, a few video tutorials, and tell you to have fun. If you know what you’re doing, that’s fine, but if you’re new to keyword research, you’d probably like to have a little more help getting started. Wordtracker’s Academy provides that help including following options:
- Articles - Tips for doing keyword research properly, optimizing for search engines, and building a successful website
- Case studies - Stories about people that have used keyword research to succeed online
- A keyword guide - Several in-depth pages that walk you through the basics of keyword research and how to use it for your site
- The most helpful resource is probably their Keyword Research E-Book—a 55 page guide walking you through how to use Wordtracker, using vegetarian dog food as an example. Substitute your own subject, and you have a guide for building a successful website with keyword research.
There are a number of subscription options for WordTracker. The first thing you can look at is their free trial. It’s great for getting a feel for how the system works. You can sign up on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis. For myself, I went straight to the annual subscription, simply because I knew I’d want to use the tool on a regular basis, not just for one particular day, week or month.
In conclusions, I love it and use it a great deal for my main sites and it helps in gretting the traffic. I strongly recommend you to sign up for a trail version and use it to see if it suits you!
